The high court has finally agreed to uphold its decision to award Mecca bingo a £59 million VAT refund. It seems that Mecca Bingo overpaid their VAT between January 2003 and June 2008. The decision of the high court is much to the joy of Rank Group Plc who have been fighting hard for this all year. In addition there was also a further claim made by Rank for an additional £26 million in VAT which was also upheld.

The decision by the high court is a landmark decision for the entire UK based bingo operators who have all been fighting again high bingo taxes.
