Bingo calling has always been an art in the bingo halls with many bingo nicknames being developed over the years such as two little ducks for 22 and so on. This has all changed though with the advent of online bingo websites. This traditional number calling method has now become obsolete. The number calling methods now used by online bingo websites is an electronic method of calling that just used straight number calling.

Straight number calling has become very popular and a number of reasons for this include the fact that modern generations are not used to bingo halls and therefore would have no knowledge of the old nickname number calling method that was used. The new generation of players think of bingo as a game that involves winning lots of money and not one that has been designed for light hearted fun.

Straight number calling is also much clearer and easier for many players especially if they are not using auto daub systems. Bingo is such a serious business these days and many of the online bingo websites offer substantial jackpots for their players. It just doesn’t seem right to be using cheesy names for the ball numbers anymore.

Traditional bingo halls still use nicknames for their numbers but many are now looking for more up to date nicknames for the numbers so that they can try to attract younger generations. I read on another blog for example that one bingo hall was using skinny jeans for the number 11. I wonder what they will think of next. Do you have any suggestions?

Until next time,

Play Safely
